Giants are popular units in Clash of Clans, and they can really help in winning wars if used effectively. They target defensive structures, but they can also be used as tanking units to soak up damage. They are usually cheap, and most players are able to access them during the initial stages of the game. Combine Giants with Healers in the Low Level Town Hall (TH)

The low level TH refers to levels that are below TH8. Use Giant-Healer combo in these levels and you definitely overpower most of the opposing troops. The combo is more effective at TH6, and you can use 15 Giants and 2 Healers to destroy the defensive structures of your enemies and soak up large amounts of damage. You can also include a few Wall Breakers in the combo to make it stronger.

Train Giants to Soak Up Damage & Farm Resources at TH7

At TH7, Giants are more effective when used as tanking units- they have high health and can soak up incredible amounts of damage. But these units can be trained to enable them farm resources. Training and using many Giants is costly, and so you need to train a few of them and support them with Wall Breakers, Archers and Barbarians. This is a good farming strategy, and can earn you large amounts of resources when you implement it.

Use Giants to Farm Dark Elixir at TH8

In this stage, it is pretty effective to use Giants to gain resources, like the Dark Elixir. You don’t need to train or support your Giants when farming Dark Elixir at TH8. These units are readily available in this stage, but this doesn’t mean that you can use a large number of the units. You need to use only enough of them and preserve the rest for other tasks.
